Introducing...

(Shannon posting here)

Well we are just getting back from a very productive week in Haiti and I wanted to share a little bit of what went on! I would like to introduce everyone to Leah Ballock who will be tracking the academic progress of the kids living at Angel House! She brought down some test sheets and was able to ask the children basic questions and had them do activities to see where they are at the beginning of the school year.

I didn't get pictures of all of the children because they were nervous enough without me snapping away. In fact, the testing environment seemed to throw many of the kiddos off and they became extremely shy and would not answer some of the questions. :) But it is a great start and we look forward to sending out the results to you soon!

Also in these pictures is Reginald (Reggie) who will be working in the afternoons as a tutor and an English instructor for the Angel House crowd. He is an excellent interpreter and has a fantastic temperament with the kids. Many of you have may have already met him when he was working as an interpreter for the medical missions.

Reece did amazing - he seemed to really enjoy showing off all that he knows! He would even try and answer all the questions in English. Smarty pants.

Reggie leaning in for the answer because the kids that are normally loud and rambunctious all of a sudden became shy!

Candy for a job well done!

Again, we will be sending out the results in the near future and hope to update you again as the school year progresses.
